Unit 78: Game Design Sprite Sheet

Game Design Sprite Sheet

In this article, I will talk about the theory and applications of digital graphics technology, and how it is used to create digital graphics for games.

Artistic Styles
Depending on the videogame, the art styles will vary. Pictured below are games with different renditions of someone sailing. It’s interesting to see how different these styles vary between different types of games.

This is because video games have a wide variety of people of different ages and tastes playing their games, and they want their game to appeal to the target market that best suits them.
For example, Uncharted uses motion capture so that they can be as realistic as possible because it suits the target market that they are trying to sell their game to. Below are screenshots of Uncharted actors using motion capture to make their games more realistic.
